Forge Water Co, LLC — forgewaterco.com

Effective Date: [insert launch date]

Forge Water Co, LLC ("Forge Water Co," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have. Your rights may vary depending on the state you live in. By using forgewaterco.com (the "Site"), contacting us, or purchasing our products over the phone, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

This Site and our products are intended for customers located in the United States. We do not direct our services to individuals outside the United States.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly. When you fill out a form on the Site, request a quote, place an order over the phone, or otherwise contact us, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, mailing or service address, and any information you choose to share about your water filtration needs.

Payment information. When you purchase a product, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems, and we instruct our staff not to capture full card numbers in call notes or recordings. We may retain a record of the transaction (amount, date, and last four digits of the card) for accounting and order history.

Call information. When you speak with us by phone, we may keep records of your inquiry, quote, and order details. We may record or monitor calls for quality, training, and order-accuracy purposes. Because some states require all parties to consent to recording, we will inform you that a call is being recorded at the start of the call, regardless of where you are located.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our advertising and analytics partners may automatically collect device and usage data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions with our ads. This is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see Section 4).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide quotes
  • Process and fulfill product orders taken over the phone or online
  • Refer you to a licensed independent plumber for installation, if you request it
  • Communicate with you about your order, including confirmations and follow-up
  • Operate, improve, and secure the Site
  • Run and measure advertising campaigns and reach potential customers
  • Comply with legal obligations, including tax and recordkeeping requirements
  • Prevent fraud and enforce our terms

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense, and we do not disclose the information you give us over the phone or through our forms to third parties for their own marketing. However, some state privacy laws define "sale" and "sharing" broadly to include the use of online tracking technologies for advertising. As described below, our use of advertising cookies and pixels may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under those laws. See Section 6 for how to opt out.

We may share information as follows:

Service providers. With vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processors, hosting providers, phone/CRM systems, and analytics providers. These vendors are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.

Installation referrals. If you ask to be referred to a plumber for installation, we may share your name, contact information, and service address with an independent licensed plumber so they can arrange installation directly with you. The plumber is a separate business, their handling of your information is governed by their own policies, and you pay the plumber directly for any installation services.

Advertising partners. With advertising platforms (such as Google and Meta) that help us serve and measure ads. These partners may use online identifiers and browsing activity collected on our Site to deliver targeted advertising. This may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under certain state privacy laws.

Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Forge Water Co, our customers, or others.

Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets.

4. Cookies and Advertising Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and deliver and measure advertising. Because we run ads, third-party partners may place their own cookies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads on other sites.

Opt-out preference signals. Where supported, we honor browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC). When we detect such a signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for that browser.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) or the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org). Disabling cookies may affect how the Site functions.

5. Data Retention and Security

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, after which we delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we experience a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any authorities as required by applicable law.

6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for targeted advertising. To exercise this right, you may: (a) submit a request using the contact information in Section 10; (b) enable Global Privacy Control in your browser (see Section 4); or (c) use the industry opt-out tools listed in Section 4.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:

  • Access or request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of targeted advertising
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and you may use an authorized agent where the law permits. We will respond within 45 days, or such other timeframe as required by applicable law, and will let you know if we need additional time.

7. Phone and Text Communications

Transactional contact. If you provide your phone number when making an inquiry or order, you agree that we may contact you at that number about that inquiry or order (for example, to confirm details, provide a quote, or follow up on delivery). Message and data rates may apply.

Marketing contact. We will only send you marketing or promotional calls or texts if you have given us separate, express consent to do so. Providing your number for an inquiry or purchase does not by itself enroll you in marketing messages. Consent to marketing is not a condition of purchasing any product.

Opting out. You may opt out of marketing calls or texts at any time by telling us or by replying STOP to a text message. We honor Do Not Call requests for marketing calls. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about an active order.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and we do not knowingly use the information of anyone under 16 for targeted advertising. If you believe a person under 16 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" above and post the updated version on the Site. Your continued use of the Site or our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
