Add Ons
UV, Sediment & Alkaline Add-Ons for Well and City Water
Most homes don't need an add-on. They exist for specific situations: a private well, an older home with grit in the lines, or a tank RO system that leaves water tasting flat. If none of those describe your home, your main system is enough on its own.
The Whole-Home UV Purifier is for wells. Well water has no disinfectant in the line, and the manufacturer rates this unit to neutralize 99.9% of bacteria with light, not chemicals. It isn't needed on chlorinated county water, which is already disinfected.
The Pre-Sediment Filter catches sand, silt and rust before they reach the rest of your system. It makes sense on wells, in older homes and anywhere you see visible grit; many city-water homes with clean lines can skip it.
The Pure Alkaline Filter adds calcium and magnesium back after the 5-stage tank RO for fuller-tasting water. It isn't needed with the HW800, which has remineralization built in.
